Forming part of a worldwide project for Anglo American this case study focuses on one mine, Greensise Colliery, near Witbank in South Africa. Greenside mines thermal coal for domestic and export markets and produces approximately four million tonnes of coal per year. Like the vast majority of Anglo American mines Greenside operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
